The Naval Training Ship DANMARK is a steel-hulled, three-masted and full-rigged ship. It was build as a training ship in 1933 at Nakskov Shipyard in Denmark. Since then it has provided basic training of young people seeking careers at sea.
The ship is the property of the Kingdom of Denmark and has its home base there. It is capable of sailing all over the world, however in the recent years it has only been sailing in European waters. On special occasions it crosses the Atlantic Ocean to visit the USA, where the ship stayed during WWII and provided training of US cadets. |

This type of Dutch flat-bottomed boat originated around 1780-1800, being mentioned the yrst time in documents of that period. They where originally used for yshing mussels and oysters in Dutch and Flemish lakes and channels. Over the past 60 years these boats have been gradually been updated by more modern versions and they are often rebuilt into popular pleasure boats.This Hoogars Yacht was build in 1907 in the village Bruinisse for the ferryman from Gorishoek, which lies on the southern coats of the isle of Tholen and in 1924 this yacht was been rebuilt as a pleasure yacht. |

A flat-bottomed boat from Provence. Vessels of this type were com-monly used along the Rhone River for transporting building timber, tiles from Arles and fodder.The runs were eventually extended to include the southern coasts of France. The boats however disappeared, as railway transport became widespread. |
