The "WINSTON CHURCHILL", later called the "ZEELAND" was built during the Second World War and equipped with a steam engine. It was, in fact, th last steam-driven tug for coastal use built for the Dutch company Goedkoop in Amsterdam. The vessel was later sold to the Dutch company Willem Muller in Terneuzen in 1964, where she was equipped with a diesel engine and renamed the "ZEELAND". She was broken up in 1997 in Dordrecht, Holland. Says one of the ship's captains, Henk de Winde, "She was a difficult lady to get along with, but after 25 years of happy marriage, I know that she was very special, and I am still not sure, which one of us was best."

Since 1776 Swedish naval officers got their education on board special training ships. In 1946 it was decided to build such new ships to replace the HMS Jarramas, which had served it's time. HMS Gladan was then delivered from the Stockholm Naval Dockyard in June 1947 and was followed by it's sistership the HMS Falken in October of the same year. Both Schooners have been renovated during years. HMS Gladan and HMS Falken are mostly sailing together on their cruises to the harbours in the Baltic, Kattegat, Skagerak and the North Sea. Furthermore they have crossed the Atlantic several times. Twice to sail in the Caribbean and once in a sail race for training ships. Since 1956 both schooners have participated in most international sailing races for training ships.

This inshore fishing vessel was built in 1934 in Nr. Vorupor, a small fishing settlement on the Western coast of Denmark. This is a typical, very seaworthy vessel, although the chubby form limits the maximum speed to 6 knots. The vessel is today used exclusively for hook and line fishing. Extra hatchways are mounted on the deck to give safe standing room to 3-4 fishermen. Plastic Hull (no. 702/P139) are available for this model. In this case the degree of difficulty is o and the model can be RC. equipped.

This type of boat, from Northern Norway, dates from the 17th Century. As a fishing boat it saw its most popular days from the 18th Century until the appearance of engine-driven fishing boats. These boats were extremely efficient and seaworthy. They represent a shipping culture and form which originates from the days of the Vikings. The boats are still built today, and they compete in races and regattas along the Northern coasts. "Opreisningen" was built in Rana in 1901. It has been restored and preserved at the Norwegian Maritime Museum in Oslo.
